The League
The League was founded in 1995 with a single Division of 8 teams and in 2001 had increased to 18 teams. There was an U21 Division for a brief period. There was a County decision to move the U21 teams to a Gloucestershire League that was contracting. Unfortunately that league continued to contract then ceased to exist.
Our League is affiliated to both the Gloucestershire FA and Somerset FA.

Additional Information
The Division
The optimum number of teams for a division is 10. This allows for study-leave, language exchanges, and exam dates.
Fixtures
All fixtures are set by the League. If a team has an educational or footballing activity, the League Fixture Sec. should be informed for that date to be kept clear. Two fixtures can be rescheduled without penalty. Other occasions will be judged on their merit. Permission would not be unreasonably withheld.
Via the Whole Game System. The original club must agree the transfer before the League will process it.
Competitions
The teams will be divided into Divisions not exceeding 13 (preferably 10). Teams are usually located in and around Somerset, Bristol, Banes or South Gloucestershire. League Cup and Plate Competitions are played. The Plate competition is restricted to Teams who have been knocked out in the first round of the Cup or Divisions 3 and 4. This is decided at the AGM
These Competitions are open to all teams in the League. A third Competition, a Subsidiary Shield Competition, can be introduced for teams who complete their fixtures early. Teams have an option to enter it or not.

Fixtures
All fixtures are normally played on Sundays with a KO at 2.00. With the permission of Management this could be varied if mutually agreed by both teams. Permission would not be unreasonably withheld. Where a Team has a problem playing in the afternoon, with the agreement of all the Teams within the Division, the League would normally allow that team to play its home games in the morning.
Discipline
The conduct within the League is like that required at all other Youth levels.
Teams are signed up to Respect.
We are constantly striving to improve conduct and to this end we expect to universally participate in any FA scheme to encourage better discipline.

Discipline
We believe that the conduct within the League is like that required at all other Youth levels. All teams are signed up to Respect. We are constantly striving to improve conduct and to this end we expect to take part in any FA pilot scheme to encourage better discipline both on and off the field of play.
Referees
Due to hard work and personal relationships by the committee, we enjoy the availability of referees probably giving us a 95% coverage of matches. Whenever possible the League will appoint a referee, however some games will have to be played with a Club referee in charge. No assistant referees are appointed, and clubs are expected to have a competent club person available to carry out this task.
A club appointed Referee must be entered into Full-Time using the Match Sheet Route.
